    Beaufort woman missing

    Damita Smith, a 34-year-old African American woman was reported missing on Sunday, September 5 by her boyfriend, according to a press release.

    He stated that she left her residence at Palmetto Mobile Home Park in Grays Hill and was headed to church in Sheldon. A neighbor was interviewed and said that he came into contact with Ms. Smith at a gas station that morning. According to that neighbor, she also told him that she was on her way to church. Her boyfriend and family members have not heard from her since.

    Damita Smith was last seen driving a 1992 blue/teal green Saturn bearing South Carolina tag number DTV346. She was last seen wearing a green dress and black shoes. Her disappearance is currently under investigation.
