    Sleep Inn clerk robbed at gunpoint

    The Beaufort Police Department is investigating an early Wednesday morning, July 28, robbery of the Sleep Inn Motel located at 2523 Boundary Street according to a Beaufort Police Department press release.

    Shortly after 6:00 this morning a subject, described as an African-American man dressed in black with a mask on, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. The subject is believed to have fled the area in a vehicle that was parked nearby. No injuries were reported during the incident.
