    Osprey chicks learning to fly

    In a remarkable series of photos taken this past weekend by photographer Jack Howison, Osprey parents at their nest near Jack’s waterfront house coaxed their two almost-grown chicks to fly for the first time. One of the chicks, named Cooter by Jack, took his first flight and landed on Jack’s dock with his father next to him, but his sister, Henrietta, still clings to the nest.
