New Generations Home Care comes to the Lowcountry

New Generations Home Care comes to the Lowcountry

New Generations Home Care has arrived to provide exceptional home care to Lowcountry residents. Though newer to the Lowcountry, New Generations Home Care is a well-established home care provider based in Florence, SC and covering 18 counties including Beaufort, Hampton, Jasper, and Clarendon.

Why, one would ask, is New Generations the right choice for you or a loved one?

The founder of the company, Gail Belissary, RN, BSN, has over 35 years of nursing experience with 20 of those years in both nursing management and home and community-based services. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (the National Honor Society for Nursing) and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Nursing.

Combining the integrated approach of a family team, Gail, her daughter Karen, son John, daughter-in-law Ann (a Lowcountry gal herself) and nephew George work together to insist on, and to provide, exceptional service in the field of home care.

By training John Belissary is an attorney; he works closely with our state government, legislature and state associations to ensure that the programs which keep seniors healthy and safe are funded. At the present time he is the president-elect of the South Carolina Association for Personal Care Providers.

The Belissarys also own New Generations Adult Day Center, Inc. in Florence, which is managed by Karen Belissary.

    Kelly McGowan

New Generations made a wise decision when they hired Beaufort’s own Kelly McGowan to be the marketing arm here. Along with deep roots here, Kelly can rightfully claim an impressive level of gerontological experience. As a long-term care expert, she makes sure these services are made known to people in Beaufort, Bluffton, including Sun City, Hardeeville and Ridgeland. Many of you may know Kelly personally or feel as if you know her because of all the articles she has written for The Beaufort Tribune.

New Generations Home Care provides services that an individual may have difficulty carrying out or may be unable to do entirely as the aging process or a chronic health problem advances. Giving a helping hand with a specific task may be just what is needed to enable an individual to remain at home. These everyday activities of daily living include bathing, grooming, oral and skin care, toileting, incontinence care, medication reminders, accompanying to physicians’ offices, pharmacies, rehab, light housekeeping and meal preparation, conversation, etc. New Generations’ website at www.newgenerationshc.com has a more extensive list of services available.

One factor which sets this company apart from others is that the employees go through a reference check and an extensive background check including, but not limited to, SLED reports, proof of residency, licensure and/or certification. Additionally they receive an extensive orientation and every staff member is trained in CPR and first aid.

    Mary Amonitti

While Kelly handles all of Beaufort, Hardeeville and Ridgeland (north of the Broad), well-known local TV personality Mary Amonitti is the Hilton Head and Bluffton (south of the Broad) marketing representative. Mary, married to a well-respected physician on Hilton Head Island, brings to this position many years of marketing experience.

Many Beaufort residents have already received New Generations’ services already, even some of Kelly McGowan’s own family members. New Generations goal is to help the client, help the family and relieve the day-to-day stress inherent with caregiving and to do it at an affordable price.
