    Varnville man missing, home ransacked, blood everywhere

    The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) are currently investigating a case involving a missing Varnville man whose home was ransacked and blood left everywhere. Benjamin Cook, 51, of 2029 Mill Pond Road, Varnville, is missing following what authorities believe to have been some sort of crime at his residence.

    Cook was reported missing after his sister went to look for him at his residence around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, July 5. Cook was not located inside the home; however, there was blood throughout and the home had been ransacked, according to a press release by the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office.
