Coastal Kingdom, an original television series produced by Beaufort County and The Lowcountry Institute, has earned four national Telly Awards, according to a news release from Beaufort County’s public information officer.

The series features the Lowcountry environment and wildlife. Gary Kubic, Beaufort County Administrator, announced the honor at Monday’s regular meeting of Beaufort County Council. He praised production partner and host, Tony Mills, a naturalist with the Lowcountry Institute. Kubic also congratulated County broadcasters Scott Grooms, Rob Lewis and Jake Krielcamp.

Coastal Kingdom received a first place for videography and 3 second-place awards for the Environmental, Nature and People’s Choice categories. A fifth second-place award was given for a thirty-minute feature documentary on Hilton Head Island’s Concours D’Elegance 2008, which was produced by Jean Marie Papoi.

The County Channel is a service of Beaufort County government. It is streamed on the home page of the County website, www.bcgov.net and broadcast on Charter Cable channel 20, Comcast Cable channel 2, Hargray Cable channel 252, Time Warner Cable Hilton Head Island channel 66 and Time Warner Cable Sun City channel 63.
