May 17: County Treasurer Joy Logan to make statement to public today
Beaufort County Treasurer Joy Logan will make a public statement to the media in her office, 100 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, on Monday, May 17 at 2:30 p.m., according to a press release by Beaufort County’s Public Information Office on Friday.
Logan has been the subject of severe criticism from Beaufort County Administrator Gary Kubic following the revelation this past Wednesday, May 12, that one of Logan’s employees in the County Treasurer’s Office has allegedly embezzled more than $210,000 in county funds. Kubic has called for Logan to resign her elective position, claiming that she has a “credibility gap”.

I must say that I have no confidence in either Ms. Logan or the office of the Treasurer. The old saying applies, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
