Sheriff’s Office seeks help to identify credit card fraud suspect
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office investigators are hoping local citizens may recognize and be able to provide assistance in identifying a suspect, pictured above, who allegedly used a credit card stolen from a vehicle in the Okatie area.
On March 31 Sheriff’s deputies responded to 26 Chechessee Bluff Circle in reference to a reported vehicle break-in. The victim, a 37-year old woman, said that sometime between midnight on March 30 and noon on March 31 one or more unknown persons entered her unlocked 2004 Toyota Sienna and stole her purse. The victim was alerted to the theft after receiving notification from her credit card company advising of possible fraudulent activity on one of the credit cards.
The stolen card was reportedly used at four different locations in Georgia shortly after the time it was reported stolen.
Investigators have recently obtained footage of an individual who allegedly used the card at a Wal-Mart store in Pooler, Georgia, on March 31 at approximately 11:00 am.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may recognize the individual pictured above, or who may have further information regarding this incident, to contact Investigator LCpl. W. Conant at 843-255-3424.
