Lady’s Island man reported missing by family

Lady’s Island man reported missing by family

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a 19-year-old Lady’s Island man reported missing by his family.

Michael Patrick Billard of Mises Road on Lady’s Island last made contact with his family on May 4, and was reported missing by his parents on May 7. Billard told his family he would be leaving Clemson where he had been attending college, due to poor academic performance. Billard told them he planned to visit a family member to sort out possible options for the future, but never showed up.

Investigators believe that Billard instead traveled to Savannah, GA, and have since confirmed that he was seen yesterday at the Bass Pro Shop at Savannah Mall. Investigators are continuing to follow up on leads regarding his whereabouts, as contact has yet to be made with him to confirm his well-being.

Billard is listed as a missing person in NCIC, as his family is concerned that he may be suffering from depression. No evidence of foul play or suspicious activity has been discovered during the course of the investigation.

Billard is a white male, approximately 5’11”, 160 lbs with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a plaid polo shirt, khaki shorts, and flip flops. Billard drives a white 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck with a metal tool box on the back, a tiger paw sticker on the rear window, and SC license plate FBY611.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either Investigator Sgt. B. Chapman at 843-470-3469 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
