May 13: Beaufort Sportfishing and Diving Club meets to catch Spanish Mackerel

    The May meeting for the Beaufort Sportfishing and Diving Club will be held Thursday May 13 at the Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club located on Ladys Island off of Meridian Road.

    The social begins at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7:00.  Local well known Captain Waldo Phinney affectionately known as Captain Wally of the Sea Wolf VI is the guest speaker.

    The Spanish Mackerel are arriving as the water temperatures rise and he will give a presentation on rigging for Spanish Mackerel whether they are hard to catch or are schooling on top of the water.  He will also have a charts and graphs showing local habitats for these fun fish to catch especially on light tackle.

    You do not need a reservation and guests are encouraged to attend.  For additional information call Captain Frank Gibson at 522-2020.
