Riverview Charter School names new director

The Riverview Charter School board of directors announced Wednesday, April 21, that Wendy Randle has been named the new director of Riverview effective May 17.

In a board meeting Wednesday afternoon the Riverview board of directors voted unanimously to extend the employment agreement to Randle, who has nearly a decade of administrative and teaching experience in elementary education.

“I am truly honored to lead this dynamic school,” said Randle. “The mission and philosophy of Riverview capture all of my beliefs about education. The faculty and stakeholders of Riverview are deeply committed to educating the whole child to ensure each student receives the individualized instruction which is ultimately conducive to success.”

Randle has a Master’s Degree in School Administration and is currently in her final year as a Doctoral Candidate specializing in Educational Leadership. Most recently, Randle has been the principal of a similarly sized elementary school in Somerset, Massachusetts. She will be moving to Beaufort with her husband, Derrick Randle, Sr., who has been relocated to the US Naval Hospital.

“Our director search committee did an outstanding job of attracting a pool of highly qualified candidates for this position. We are thrilled to have chosen Wendy Randle to lead Riverview,” said Mary Foster, Riverview communications chair. “She has a proven record of fostering a learner-centered educational experience for children and has the administrative leadership to guide and mentor our exceptional faculty and staff.”

Riverview’s mission is to create a small, diverse learning community that actively engages students in meaningful and innovative learning experiences. Emphasizing “learning by doing”, family and community involvement, and engaged citizenship, Riverview is committed to nurturing the whole child and preparing each student for a global society.
