Dale McDorman named deputy chief of Beaufort Police Department

    Dale McDorman named deputy police chief

    Dale McDorman has been selected for the position of deputy chief of police for the Beaufort Police Department.

    Deputy Chief McDorman has been a member of the department for 15 years and has served as a patrol officer, K-9 officer, operations sergeant, operations lieutenant. and most recently as the lieutenant in charge of the investigative section.

    Originally from Ohio, McDorman served eight years with the U.S. Air Force in the military police field prior to entering the ranks of civilian law enforcement. He also spent two years as a deputy sheriff in Stark County, Ohio, and five years with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

    In addition to his extensive practical experience Deputy Chief McDorman is a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Mid-Level Management Course and the FBI Carolina Command College.

    His promotion ceremony will be March 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beaufort Police Department.
