Historic Beaufort Foundation names three new trustees, elects new officers
Three new trustees were elected to Historic Beaufort Foundation’s board at its Annual Meeting March 16. They are:
• Dick Morehead who is the owner of a historic home and is a member of HBF’s development committee.
• Michael Rainey restored three historic properties in the National Historic Landmark District and previously was an HBF trustee and chairman of the City of Beaufort’s Historic District Review Board.
• Iva Welton, a Hilton Head Island resident, is on the Foundation’s Verdier House Committee and was instrumental in achieving the restoration of Rose Hill Plantation and its listing on the National Register of Historic Places in the 1980s.
Two current trustees, Betsy Kinghorn and Jay Weidner, were reelected to second terms. New officers are Pete Palmer, chairman; Brantley Harvey, vice chairman; and Kinghorn, secretary. Randy Kohn remains as treasurer.
