Choral Concert at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, March 14
The St. Gregory-the-Great Festival Chorus, which includes choristers from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, will repeat the concert they presented in Rome, Italy, in January, 2010. The Chorus also sang for Masses in Assisi and Rome in addition to serving as the principal choir for a Sunday evening Mass in St. Peter Basilica, Vatican City.
Repertoire will be Spirituals and American music. The choir is under the direction of Lisa Scott Screeton, Director of Music at St. Gregory-the-Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC. Gary R. Rakestraw is Director of Music and Organist at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaufort, SC. The program will feature soloist Linda Burkett and violinist David Kimball.
The concert will be presented on Sunday, March 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 70 Lady’s Island Drive, Beaufort, SC. There is no admission charge, and all are invited to attend.
