School board’s Riverview racial “error” approximates 5%
School board’s Riverview racial “error” approximates 5%
The Beaufort Tribune has obtained spreadsheets showing that the “error” in the racial composition of the Beaufort County public schools reported by the Beaufort County School District was skewed approximately 5% in favor of African-American students.
This erronenous result was reported by the school district to Riverview Charter School and the U.S. Office for Civil Rights, jeopardizing Riverview’s existence until Riverview leaders exposed the error and forced the school district to provide accurate data.
We are analyzing the spreadsheets and will report the results as soon as we can.
