The Beaufort Tribune beats Beaufort Gazette online by 50%
The Beaufort Tribune is pleased to announce that as of January 2010 we are now officially ahead of The Beaufort Gazette in online readership by a margin of 50%.
According to Compete.com, the independent online service that measures the relative popularity of online websites, The Beaufort Tribune had 7,471 unique visitors in January, 50% more than The Beaufort Gazette’s 5,130.
These latest comparison figures show that the online readership of the Gazette took a steep nosedive in April 2009 when it removed its physical location from Beaufort to Bluffton. In reaction to the Gazette’s departure, The Beaufort Tribune opened its doors on April 13, 2009, as the online hometown local physically located in northern Beaufort county.
It’s been downhill ever since for the Gazette’s online presence, and higher and higher for the Tribune’s. Now, the Tribune has surpassed the Gazette by 50% in less than ten months.
Compete.com’s graph covering the months since we started last April tells the story.
