Flagging scheduled this week on SC 802 Lady’s Island

Contractors who are making roadway improvements to S.C. 802 on Lady’s Island have scheduled flagging operations along two sections of the highway this week.

Workers with Sanders Brothers Construction Company will be flagging motorists near the intersection of 802 and Ferry Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.17 through Friday, Feb. 19 while pipe is installed along the roadway.

Crews with United Contractors, Inc. and Misener Marine Construction, Inc. will flag motorists on the McTeer Bridge Monday, Feb. 15 through Friday, Feb. 19 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. while concrete is poured for the new bridge span. They will also make improvements to the rail of the existing bridge.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and look out for workers on foot.

The 802 road improvement project is one of ten such projects funded largely through a voter approved sales tax. It includes a new bridge span across the Beaufort River adjacent to the McTeer Bridge and widening and improvements along sections of 802 in the Shell Point area and on Lady’s Island.
