Eleanore Bednarsh departs as principal of Riverview Charter School
Eleanore Bednarsh, the principal of Riverview Charter School, also known as the “director”, has departed, according to an announcement by Alison Thomas, the school’s chairperson.
Here is the entire text of the announcement to parents by email at 5:30 am Monday:
Before coming to Riverview, Bednarsh was the lower school division head at the prestigious Marymount School in Manhattan. She has over 25 years of administrative and educational experience in New York independent schools and “a passion for hands-on learning experiences and teaching the whole child”, according to the April 14 Riverview newsletter announcing her hire by Riverview.
Bednarsh reported for work on June 15. “It is the most exciting professional experience of my life and I’ve had some pretty exciting ones in the past,” she said in August when the school first opened its doors to incoming students.
Her entire tenure at Riverview was six months.
