The Beaufort Tribune exceeds 100,000 page views per month

The Beaufort Tribune exceeds 100,000 page views per month

months-11The Beaufort Tribune is pleased to announce that for the month of October the Tribune exceeded 100,000 page views, doubling in a single month the average of about 50,000 page views during each of the previous five months.

months-2“This is an important milestone for the Tribune,” Beaufort’s daily online hometown local newspaper’s editor and publisher, George Trask, said. “In six months we have gone from essentially zero when we started on April 13 to more than 100,000 page views per month. “We had, in fact, exactly 104,927 page views (graph at left) in October according to the independent company that counts each view.”

Page views are the standard measure of the reach of a commercial online web site. They are used by advertisers to measure the number of times an advertisement is viewed. Dividing the cost of advertising by the number of page views tells the cost per viewing of each advertisement.

“In a nutshell,” Trask said, “advertisers in The Beaufort Tribune are reaching more potential customers for each dollar they spend with us than they get with alternatives in the Beaufort market. And those dollars are targeted to the Beaufort market, not dissipated to other markets. If you want to spend the least amount of money to reach the most people in the Beaufort area, The Beaufort Tribune is the place to advertise.”

“Moreover, as our readership continues to skyrocket, the cost per view continues to plummet since our ad rates are fixed per month, not based on the number of views. For example, if you purchased a three-month contract in September, your already very low cost per view in September would be cut in half in October since our readership doubled in October.”

“It’s obvious that the word has gone out that The Beaufort Tribune is the place to go to find out what’s going on in Beaufort county north of the Broad River. We truly have become Beaufort’s hometown local newspaper in just a few short months.”

“We thank everyone for reading The Beaufort Tribune and supporting our advertisers. We look forward to even greater achievement in the future, including opening more online hometown local newspapers to serve other communities.”

The Beaufort Tribune is owned by Hometown Local Media, Inc., a corporation founded by Trask for the purpose of providing online local newspapers to communities that are experiencing a decline in service by their local printed newspapers.
