Evan Thompson to speak on Beaufort’s history Thursday
Evan Thompson brings fresh look at Beaufort’s history
Evan Thompson, executive director of Historic Beaufort Foundation (HBF), will bring a fresh look at Beaufort’s architecture and history when he speaks Thursday, October 8, as part of Archaeology Month in South Carolina. “Architecture & Slavery: Sites & Stories from Beaufort in the Mid-19th Century” is one of six free programs sponsored by HBF, Beaufort County Library and USCB during October.
Thompson’s program will tie historic as well as unknown names to sites and structures in Beaufort’s National Historic Landmark District and beyond. His research always illuminates little-known facts about and connections between the people and places associated with Beaufort’s history.
