Letter to editor: Editor is nudging readers to pay attention

Reader: Pay attention, attend local government meetings

I am very enthusiastic about the recent editorials in The Beaufort Tribune with the information about the city council, county council and board of education. There is certainly no stone left unturned about what we, the voters and taxpayers, should be thinking about and what questions we should be asking.

I think the editor is poking and nudging his readers into sitting up and paying attention, and that is great. I particularly liked the article about knowing your county council members with the photos included. I printed that and it is hanging near by.

The more we know, the better choices we will make at the polls. I intend on going to the next county council meeting. I hope a few more of your readers go for the first time also.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on an incredible amount of information.
