Man arrested in Yemassee killing, charged with murder

An arrest has been made in the double shooting that left one of two brothers dead and the other in critical condition Friday night near Yemassee. Brandon L. Green, 29, of 557 Tulifinny Road, Yemassee, was charged Sunday with murder following the double shooting incident on Tuliffiny Road Friday night.

Hampton County authorities stated there could be other charges brought against Green in this case as the investigation continues. Police stated the motive stemmed from an argument the three were involved in at the time of the incident.

According to a press release issued by the Hampton County sheriff’s office, a call came into officers around 9:00 p.m. Friday night as deputies responded to a shooting call on Tulifinny Road. Once deputies arrived on scene they discovered one gunshot victim at 490 Tulifinny Road at the back door of a residence attempting to get help after being shot.

After EMS personnel began assisting the first victim, a second victim was found lying in the yard of a residence at 1026 Tulifinny Road, located next door to where the first victim was found. The second victim died on scene.

The first victim was flown to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach. He has been identified as Anthony Antonio Badger, 24, of Tulifinny Road. He remained in critical condition Sunday at Savannah Memorial Hospital.

The second victim, who died, was identified by law enforcement officers as Donnmick Tirus Badger, 23, of 1026 Tulifinny Road. The two were brothers. An autopsy is planned according to the coroner’s office.

Law enforcement brought in the sheriff’s canine tracking team to search for a suspect who was initially reported to have fled on foot. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also responded to the call.

Officers later discovered the suspect had left the area in a vehicle. Search warrants were issued in the case, and the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested one suspect, Brandon L. Green. He has now been charged with murder.
