Two brothers shot last night near Yemassee, one dies
One person has died and another has been flown to hospital from the scene of a shooting on Tuliffiny Road outside Yemassee last night, according to a press release at 2:00 a.m. this morning from the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office. The victims are brothers.
A call came in around 9:00 p.m. last night to dispatch deputies to a shooting incident on Tulifinny Road. Once deputies arrived on scene they discovered one gunshot victim at 490 Tulifinny Road at the back door of a residence attempting to get help after being shot. At first it was unclear how many times the victim had been shot.
After EMS personnel began assisting the first victim, a second victim was found lying in the yard of a residence at 1026 Tulifinny Road, located next door to where the first victim was found. The second victim died on scene. It is unknown at this time how many times the second victim may have been shot.
The first victim was flown to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach. He has been identified as Anthony Antonio Badger, 24, of Tulifinny Road.
The second victim, who died, was identified by law enforcement as Donnmick Tirus Badger, 23, of 1026 Tulifinny Road. An autopsy is planned, according to the coroner’s office.
The two victims are brothers, according to the press release.
Law enforcement officers brought in their canine tracking team to search for a suspect who was initially reported to have fled on foot. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also responded to the call.
Officers later discovered the suspect had left the area in a vehicle. Search warrants have been issued in the case and the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office currently has one suspect in custody.
