Job fair Saturday at TCL
The South Carolina Employment Security Commission (ESC), the Beaufort County Library, Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL), area legislators, and numerous other organizations will team up Saturday to help local residents search for jobs and new careers.
Employees from the Beaufort, Ridgeland, Hampton and Walterboro ESC Workforce Centers and staff members from the Beaufort County Library will host a Career Services Expo from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in Building 23 (across from the McClean Hall Student Center) on the campus of the Technical College of the Lowcountry, Ribaut Road.
State Representatives Shannon Erickson and Bill Herbkersman, along with Senator Tom Davis and other members of the legislative delegations from Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton and Hampton counties have also offered their support to the event.
ESC employees will meet individually with anyone seeking work to assess his or her needs. The Career Services Expo is intended to connect unemployed residents with local employers that are hiring and to give jobseekers a chance to receive free advice on their careers or educational and training opportunities that may be available to them to enhance their chances of getting a job.
Information about jobs listed through ESC’s Job Link Internet job site will be shared with job seekers who can go online or do manual job searches on their own or with the assistance of ESC personnel.
Some of the other organizations represented at the Career Services Expo include the Greater Beaufort Chamber of Commerce, S.C.O.R.E, the Coast Guard, SC Personal Pathways, Goodwill Job Link, Literacy Volunteers of the Low Country, Beaufort County Adult Education and SC Vocational Rehabilitation.
