    Nearly New shop robbed

    The Nearly New shop on Boundary Street, Beaufort, was robbed at gunpoint this past Friday afternoon.

    At 4:45 p.m. Friday Beaufort police officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the store, located at 1808 Boundary Street. A man entered the store and told employees he was interested in looking at televisions. After he looked around for a short time he brandished a handgun, threatened an employee and demanded money.

    After obtaining the money, the man fled the store and was last seen running behind the business.

    According to a press release by Chief Matthew Clancy of the Beaufort Police Department, the suspect is described as an African-American man in his forties who stands approximately six feet tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket, blue pants, sun glasses and a blue bandana on the top of his head.
