Pat Conroy’s new novel, South of Broad, available today

Book publisher Random House will release Pat Conroy’s latest novel, South of Broad, today under its Nan A. Talese imprint.

The Beaufort novelist will be signing copies on this first day of issue at Barnes & Noble Union Square, 33 E. 17th Street, in New York City, and in October at Beaufort Bookstore in Pat’s hometown of Beaufort, South Carolina.

Other bookstores where Pat will make book-signing appearances during the coming weeks are located in Birmingham AL, Atlanta GA, Savannah GA, Mt. Pleasant SC, Highlands NC, Asheville NC, Charlotte NC, Pawleys Island SC, Augusta GA and Columbia, SC, revealing the regional popularity of the author’s stories about the South Carolina lowcountry.

Arriving after 14 years of silence on the novel front from Beaufort native Pat Conroy, South of Broad is a narrative told in the person of fictional character Leopold Bloom King, son of a Catholic ex-nun and now a Charleston gossip columnist, about 20 years in the lives of himself and a coterie of his friends.
