Letter to the editor: Helpless animals poisoned, dumped
Reader laments inhumane treatment of wildlife in downtown Beaufort
Recently the Bay Street pigeons were intentionally poisoned. Was the Humane Society consulted on the best way to handle the problem if it really was a problem?
These poisonings can effect other wildlife as well.
On another note, the Scott Street neutered black and white cats that were fed by a responsible person were trapped and dumped at a remote location and didn’t fare well.
It is not a good feeling to live in a city that does not use humane practices in dealing with animals or wildlife.
